while I think I'm not
it's that all the little things
I really care about
I defend
when I think I'm right
and I try to prove
the good advice
they say....
To strangers it's once
to loved ones it's a nag a lot
but i can't just a blind eye
and let them hurt a lot
they say....
I thought I was enlightening them
but they did not
my well wishes down the drain
an outcome I never thought
they say....
this was what I was
a few days back
now i try to bother less
hope this works out
they say....
my intent they say
how long can they last
oh mamma! my kids they laugh about
it'll just remain an afterthought
Friday Writings #180: Stubborn About the Small Things
Oh dear! Yes, it can be a tricky business.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha , ha yes it is.
DeleteI'm liking the stubbornness here, it comes out great, glad it isn't obstinateness. My boyishness peeking out, wasn't second childhoodness was it?
ReplyDeleteThank you Jim , yours was cute and mind you it'tit wasn't like any second childhood
DeleteOh stubborn is just another word for being persistent and determined haha Don't change
ReplyDeleteoops I am not logged in above is from Marja from Dutchcorner
ReplyDeleteLots of little things are what make a life civilised, and many little things added together make huge things. Being determined and persistent, doing what you believe is right is not stubbornness, it's courage. I enjoyed your poem very much.
ReplyDeleteJust keep on doing what you think is right. It's care and concern.
ReplyDeleteStay as you are
ReplyDeleteI think we should never reward faultfinding by giving in to it.
